Our Story

Kildare Brewing Company began brewing in 2017 at Lock 13 Brewpub, beside the Grand Canal in Sallins. We make independent Irish beer in County Kildare and serve it where it is brewed.

Founder Barry Flanagan is a second-generation publican. His parents, Joe and Marie, opened the Silken Thomas in 1975; Lock 13 has been in the family since 1995. That experience shapes the beer: it has to earn its place on a publican's bar and taste right in the glass.
