Our Story
We brew beer beside the Grand Canal in Sallins, Co. Kildare. We have done since 2015.
Kildare Brewing Company started with a simple idea: brew honest beer in a place worth visiting. Our brewery sits inside Lock 13 Brewpub — a restored canal-side venue on the banks of the Grand Canal, where the water that flows past our door is the same water that shaped this town for two hundred years.
We are a small, independent Irish craft brewery. No investors, no corporate parent, no shortcuts. Every batch is brewed, fermented, and packaged on site by our team.
What We Brew
Three core beers available year-round, plus seasonal and limited releases on tap at Lock 13:
- Chapel Lane Lager — 4.3% — Clean, crisp, dangerously sessionable
- Soldier's Island Pale Ale — 4.5% — Citrus hops, perfectly balanced
- Electric Juice IPA — 5.5% — Bold, hazy, unapologetically hoppy
All unfiltered. All unpasteurised. Brewed fresh in Kildare.
Our Founder
Barry Flanagan built Lock 13 Brewpub from the ground up and launched Kildare Brewing Company because he believed County Kildare deserved its own brewery. He still runs both businesses today — hands-on, no delegation of the things that matter.
Our Promise
We will never filter our beer to make it last longer on a shelf. We will never pasteurise it to make logistics easier. We brew it fresh, we deliver it fast, and we stand behind every can and every pint.
